100% Italian oil "First Cold Pressed"
Via Variano, 1 - 82013 Bonea (BN) — 0824 834622 - 348 4978993 with WhatsApp service
I met and tasted this oil for the first time a few years ago in Milan, on the occasion of an event
organized by the great Design in Piazza Fontana in which the Campania Region participated, some friends
had invited me, highlighting the fact that it was worth being there and it was in fact so in several
senses, then trying it at home calmly I realized that it was an oil that was definitely of a truly
superior level to other extra virgin olive oils that I had tried previously, I can assure you that
from the south I have tried many since I was a child since I was born in Sicily.
But also others from various other regions.
Curiosity then and work reasons motivated me to do an inspection of their mill in Bonea, it was 2019
they were celebrating 100 years of activity, I remember very well how much father Massimo wanted me
to go to them to see in person, I was in Salento with one of my sisters who married a native of Nardò,
from there I was definitely much closer and I went there, in the experience I had I finally understood
very well what "cold pressing" meant.
I had already visited other oil mills but, at Votino I certainly understood things better.
Since then I would say that it has become one of my favorite oils, I have ordered it several times,
I have had friends taste it and always obtained excellent results, I remember a rather heated discussion
with the somewhat ignorant partner of a restaurant in Milan, according to which outside Tuscany the oil
was not even to be taken into consideration, I remember that we organized a tasting with their historical
representative for the oil, the final result was that they asked me to order it for their restaurant too.
I knew very well that it would end up like this and not differently, the quality of the blend of Votino
oils is really very high, it even deserves to be booked well in advance so as not to run the risk of
being left without it, otherwise, one would have to behave like a true gourmand and have a collection
of oils, even a small one perhaps, but perhaps this could prove to be a little too expensive for many
who have not yet understood the true value of the work that these small companies do every day in Italy.
